Thank you for considering a gift to the Rainbow Scholarship Fund.  Members of the LGBT community (e.g., lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, non-binary, asexual, or ally) face many barriers that prevent them from obtaining an education including poverty, homelessness, unemployment, and food insecurity. Barriers which often stem from parental disapproval and rejection.  The Rainbow Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to Madison College students who identity as part of the LGBT community to help remove some of the barriers. Scholarship funds may be used for tuition, fees, books, and course-related supplies needed for Madison College classes.

In 2018, the endowed Rainbow Scholarship Fund was made possible by QBE North America with a generous donation of $20,000 to the Madison College Foundation. In 2019, and again in 2020, QBE North America added $5,000 to the Rainbow Scholarship Fund. In addition, Patrick G. Flanagan, a retired Madison College faculty member, donated $25,000 to the Rainbow Scholarship Fund after hearing LGBT students speak about the challenges they face while trying to complete their education. As a result, several Rainbow Scholarships have been awarded to Madison College students since 2019.  With generous donations from people like you, we can continue to make a difference in the lives of LGBT students.
