Fall 2022 Scholarships for Protective Services Students

Applications for fall 2022 scholarships will be open March 14th-July 31st.

*Note* if you wish to be considered for all foundation scholarships make sure your application is submitted by the general application deadline of April 28th.

Award notifications will be sent to Madison College email accounts by late August 2022.

  • Complete the questions on the general application and submit by the deadline.
  • Once you submit your general application, you will be directed to apply for other scholarship opportunities. You will need to answer additional questions to apply for these opportunities. The scholarships listed on this page that require additional questions be answered are noted with a + icon.

Alexander M. Fortney Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Requirements:

  • Must be enrolled in 6 or more credits
  • Must have a 2.5 GPA or higher
  • Must be enrolled in the Fire Protection Technician Program

Batien-Carlson Memorial Scholarship

Requirements:

  • Must be enrolled in 6 or more credits
  • Must be enrolled in the Paramedic, Paramedic Technician, EMT or EMS Intermediate Program

Preference is given to Fort Atkinson students.

Beth Jefferson ‘Women in Firefighting’ Scholarship

Requirements:

  • Must be enrolled in 6 or more credits
  • Must be enrolled in the Fire Service Certification Program
  • Must be female

Preference is given to minority students.

Candice Tylke Emergency Services Scholarship

Requirements:

  • Must be enrolled in 12 or more credits
  • Must have a 2.5 GPA or higher
  • Must have completed the EMT-Basic Program
  • Must be enrolled in the Paramedic or Fire Protection Technician Program

James Boness Memorial Scholarship

Requirements:

  • Must be enrolled in 12 or more credits
  • Must have a 2.5 GPA or higher
  • Must be enrolled in the Fire Protection Technician Program

Preference is given to students that are volunteers or paid fire department employees.

Jon W. Kuse Memorial Scholarship

Requirements:

  • Must be enrolled in 6 or more credits
  • Must have a 2.5 GPA or higher
  • Must have completed first year of program
  • Must be enrolled in the Fire Protection Technician Program

Laubengayer Family Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Requirements:

  • Must be enrolled in 6 or more credits
  • Must have a 2.0 GPA or higher
  • Must be enrolled in the Criminal Justice – Law Enforcement Program or the Criminal Justice – Law Enforcement Academy

Mark Coyne Memorial Scholarship

Requirements:

  • Must be enrolled in 12 or more credits
  • Must have a 2.0 GPA or higher
  • Must have completed the EMT-Basic Program

Pay it FRWRD Scholarship

Requirements:

  • Must be enrolled in 12 or more credits
  • Must be a minority student
  • Must be enrolled in the Criminal Justice – Law Enforcement Program or the Criminal Justice – Law Enforcement Academy

Madison Professional Police Officer Scholarship for Criminal Justice Students

Requirements:

  • Must have completed the first semester of the Criminal Justice Program
  • Must be enrolled in 6 or more credits
  • Must be enrolled in the Criminal Justice Program
  • Must complete a FAFSA
  • Interested in participating in an unpaid internship program at the Madison Police Department

All eligible students are encouraged to apply but preference will be given to students who are Black, Indigenous, and/or People of Color (BIPOC).
