This fund has been established by Melinda Gustafson Gervasi in honor of her parents.Carl completed the welding steamfitter program at MATC while Sharon worked to support the family during Carl’s apprenticeship. This fund will provide scholarships for women studying in the trades at Madison College.

A Note From Melinda Gustafson Gervasi:

I’m pleased to share with you that I have recently joined the board of the Madison College Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Madison College. Our vision is to support Madison College in its commitment to increase access so that no student will be denied an education due to financial barriers. This is accomplished by raising funds that support students through scholarships and emergency grants.

Supporting scholarships at Madison College provides the crucial financial bridge that makes higher education possible for many students. Scholarship recipients are more able to focus on coursework and participate in extracurricular activities that offer valuable volunteer, internship and leadership experiences.

I have established a fund in memory of my parents, as my father studied in the steamfitter/welding program. The Carl E. and Sharon L. Gustafson Memorial Scholarship Fund will provide support for women in the trades. I am excited to support the women who are pursuing a career in these fields.
