Employee Giving

For some students, the difference between a lifetime of earning minimum wage or a family-supporting paycheck is a college education. Each year scholarships help open the door to students who wish to pursue their dream at Madison College.

Employee Giving FAQs

Why should I give?2019-06-26T07:33:05-06:00

As faculty and staff, we believe that our work here at Madison College shapes the lives of our students and strengthens our community. We believe the impact we make empowers our students to realize their dreams.  We believe in the value of what we do.

Giving back to Madison College through our annual campaign is an opportunity to affirm this belief in our important work.

Your gift is important, regardless of size or the program you choose to support. When those of us closest to the college show our pride and dedication with a financial gift, it demonstrates to alumni and others that Madison College is worthy of their support too.

How do I give?2019-06-26T07:34:23-06:00

Every gift is greatly appreciated.  When you choose to make yours, it should be as convenient as possible.  You can select from several giving methods.  Choose what works for you.

You may designate your gift to one or more of the following categories:

  • Scholarships (Helps students achieve their career dreams.)
  • Campus Funds (Benefits a regional campus and its students.)
  • Program Funds (Supports a specific program or opportunity of your choosing.)
Where is my gift needed most?2019-06-26T07:36:10-06:00

When you select the Madison College Forward Fund as your giving preference, your unrestricted gift allows the Madison College Foundation to address critical unmet funding needs. A gift to this fund provides the greatest flexibility to deliver funding to Madison College and provide community outreach.

Madison College has a long tradition of providing education that keeps pace with the changing workforce needs of our community.  Giving to the Forward Fund ensures Madison College will have the resources to continue this tradition.

Is a contribution to the Employee Annual Giving Campaign tax deductible?2019-06-26T07:36:51-06:00

Yes. A gift to the campaign will receive a charitable income tax deduction in accordance with IRS regulations. You will receive acknowledgment and documentation of your gifts by mail in January.

Can I make a gift in someone’s honor or in memory of someone special to me?2019-06-26T07:37:16-06:00

The Employee Giving Campaign is a great opportunity to make a gift in honor or in memory of someone special to you. At your direction, we can send notice of your gift to the honoree or family members of your choice. You may consider directing your gift to one of our many funds established in honor, or in memory of Madison College employees, retirees, alumni and students.

Scholarship Established in Honor of Longtime Madison College Employee

Patricia “Parts Pat” Ann Prihoda worked at Madison College, serving in the Auto Parts Store. During that time she influenced hundreds of students on their career paths in the trades. Matt & Wendy Franczak Scholarship Fund

Every winter break Wendy Franczak, an Administrative Specialist at Madison College, and her husband Matt choose a few charities that are meaningful to them and they generously donate. In 2018, they had more expenses than usual so they skipped that year. In 2019 they knew they wanted to give more to make up for the previous year and thought, "where can we make the most impact on the community?" Instead of donating to several organizations, they decided to make one larger donation to the Madison College Foundation and established an endowed fund that will support students into perpetuity.
